MISH Welcomes Eric Cowell as President of Board of Directors!
A New Chapter Begins: Welcoming Eric Colwell as MISH Board President
We’re delighted to share some exciting news from Music in the Somerset Hills: Eric Colwell has officially stepped into the role of Board President!
Eric succeeds the incredible Joan Seigle, whose thoughtful and visionary leadership helped shepherd MISH through a dynamic period of artistic and organizational growth. As we look ahead, we’re filled with gratitude for Joan’s contributions and enthusiasm for the journey that lies ahead with Eric at the helm.
A lifelong Bernardsville resident, Eric brings more than just professional acumen to MISH—though his decades of strategic leadership in the biopharmaceutical industry, including his work as founder of Payer Sciences, certainly strengthen our foundation. What truly makes Eric’s appointment so meaningful is his enduring love for music and his commitment to fostering local community.
When he's not in board meetings or advising startups, you’ll likely find Eric tending to his family’s farm, experimenting with heritage apple varieties, or raising his voice in harmony with a local choir. His values are deeply aligned with MISH’s mission: cultivating artistry, building community, and making music accessible to all.
“I love MISH’s work—as an audience member, a supporter, and a singer,” Eric shared. “To now help shape its future is an honor. I truly believe that music has the power to bring people together and create a stronger, more connected Somerset Hills.”
With Eric’s thoughtful leadership and deep-rooted connection to the region, we’re excited for this next chapter—one where the music continues to flourish and the community continues to grow.
Welcome, Eric! Here's to the harmony ahead.
